Glory (1989)

Glory-1989 is a story of a bravery of African-American unit on the Union side they fought with bravery in the combat, Glory is about real heroism. Matthew Broderick plays the role of real Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, but in the Glory Denzel Washington (who won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance) and Morgan Freeman are fictitious roles meant to stand in with all the real soldiers who fought alongside with their white colleagues.

1917 (2019)

1917 a first world war movie, a distressing or painful story of two young soldiers who received orders to stop other soldiers from entering into a trap. There’s a lot of deaths, and you will feel the pain of soldiers as they start their faithless journey towards enemy territory. One scene might make you tear up when the plane crashes at a barn.1917 is an interesting story of World War I.

Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Saving Private Ryan, probably the most interesting World War 2 movie. In film, soldier team led by Tom Hanks as Army Rangers Captain, John H. Miller who are on rescue mission to enter in the enemy territory to recuse the private Ryan, all of his brothers died and when that happens the last left behind sibling is to be sent home. Saving Private Ryan is amazing movie although it didn’t win Oscar, but most people think it should win the best picture at the Oscar.

Inglorious Basterds (2009)

Inglorious basterds is another World War 2 movie, but it’s completely different from Saving Private Ryan. Probably only fun war movie on this war movies list, the story is about the Jewish soldiers who are taking out Nazis (Or Nat-zis, as Brad Pitt) there are lot of talkative moments (Christoph Waltz won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his character as an SS officer) you will see occasional gruesome violence, according to some people it is Quentin Tarantino best movie.

Full Metal Jacket (1987)

After one year release of Platoon, Full metal jacket is released and it’s a very different than other war movies, it’s divided in two parts one in a boot camp which is a better portion of the film, and one part is Nam. It’s another movie of Stanley Kubrick, and one of his most famous movie after The Shining, but in this film he tries to show viewers about the things that soldiers face in early boot camps.

The Hurt Locker (2008)

The Hurt Locker is a movie that kept audiences hooked till the very last of it and when we talk about the very last we talk about even after the credits roll. This Academy Award winner war story tells about the war in Iraq. Its about how a soldier (Jeremy Renner) helps in getting rid of dangerous bombs. Its that war movie which actually makes a person question two things a) about the likeness of the soldier being on the war zone, b) is this the only thing that makes the soldier feel viable? Directed by Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker is movie that shows turns of events of a very intense war zone.
