The on-going COVID-19 pandemic gives a huge impact on every sector of the world, and that also includes Hollywood movies schedules. All the theaters are closed and people asked to stay at home for their and other’s safety, all the upcoming Blockbuster movies which will release in few months have been postponed. An interesting thing about this situation is 7 Blockbuster movies already announced their release date late in 2020, (like No Time To Die and Wonder Woman 1984) and later in 2021 (like F9), there are several, such as Black Widow, that currently exist on the calendar.
Hollywood industry is working out on its recovery plan for the next few months, the biggest question arises regarding all of the movies big releases. To address this situation In an organized way we create this feature to not only identify all of the movies with dateless schedules, but we also predict the time of 7 Blockbuster movies and where it can be land on the calendar. We are assuming that this global situation will be ended by the end of July. Let’s start with the 7 Blockbuster movies..
A Quiet Place: Part II
A Quiet Place: Part 2 releasing on March 20th which is not happening anymore, this is the first movie that is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the other movies on the list have the advantage that the movies are completely finished, it can be release anytime but hopefully, the movie will hit the theaters in summer as in early July or Mid July.
Niki Caro’s Mulan is another movie facing release date issue instead of production delays, Mulan is finding a new date on the calendar which is a bit hard because in July Jasume Collet Serra’s movie Jungle Cruise will be release and Disney will not agree to move date in late July
The New Mutants
Josh Boone’s Movie the New Mutants was release on April 3rd the film was completely filmed back in fall 2017, and experienced continuously delays and now film is facing delay because of COVID-19. They are planning to release on streaming service but we are assuming that film also release on theaters but when it will release this a big question.
Cate Shortland’s Movie Black Widow standing with the other movies which will release on May 1st but the movie is in Phase 4, at this point, it’s not clear when the movie will release because of pandemic situation its post-production is stopped. But it might be possible that it will release at the start of October. That makes Andy Serkies Movie Venom 2 move further from its current release date October 2nd.
Spiral: From The Book Of Saw
Given the recent pandemic issue movies around the globe have faced a lot of delays. Having delays has caused a lot of chaos in the cinema industry. Darren Lynn Bousman’s movie Spiral: From The Book Of Saw was set to release in May but given the current scenario, it cants be. As Halloween season will approach cinemas will already be packed with movies releasing. By the end of October month, it will be easy for the film to release and do well in the industry. Given the tough circumstances, let us see if the audience enjoys doses of horror films hitting the cinema.
Warner Bros expected that Tony Cervone’s Scoob May 2020 release could be a perfect early summer treat, but clearly it is not possible. Even if it is in a state of release, the new release date would end up in September, well it’s not a perfect spot for a family-friendly animated movie because of the end of summer break as well as the pandemic Covid-19.
Minions: The Rise Of Gru
Kyle Balda’s Movie Minions: The Rise Of Gru became the first major movie also in the category of animated movies, that got an impact due to pandemic. Official release date changed not due to the closure of theaters, but also animators needed time as much as three months to complete the whole project. The best guess for screening might be Late December.
