8 Movies With 100 Percent Ratings You Must Watch Before Streaming Netflix The Irishman

Ever since I found out that Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman debuted with a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I could not find a comfortable place to digest the news. It might not be a really big deal to many of you ordinary movie fans, but it means a lot to me.

As the film The Irishman is all set to make its arrival on Netflix on 27th November, I couldn’t help but wonder what leads to a film’s outstanding AKA 100 percent ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. I mean, that is HUGE! There are movies like Modern Times and The Philadelphia Story which have earned the best ratings but sometimes, modern ones such as The Irishman also have the power to surprise us.

Here are eight movies with 100 percent ratings that you must watch before streaming Netflix’s The Irishman:

1. Seven Samurai

Being probably the best creation of Akira Kurosawa, Seven Samurai is rightly the only of his many iconic movies that enjoy a certified 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This movie from 1954 is surely among the most influential movies ever created since it also served as an inspiration for The Magnificent Seven. The movie has 61 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and they are all positive.

2. Leave No Trace

Debra Granik needs to be discussed and mentioned more and more. She co-wrote and directed Leave No Trace, which turned out to be a masterpiece. The movie was released in 2018 and ranks second on the list of the most-reviewed movies with 100% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film tells the story of an Iraq War veteran suffering from PTSD, who raises his teenage daughter who is then made to join social services. The film managed to get a thumbs-up from 218 critics in total.

3. Rear Window

Enjoying a 95% audience rating from the audience and 100% rating from sixty-five critics, what else would Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly dream of? Rear Window was fairly successful in coming off as a phenomenal creation, if not among the best movies of all time.

4. Toy Story & Toy Story 2

Who is not a fan of the Toy Story franchise? The statistics support the craze we all have for these cute toys. The 1995 movie Toy Story and its sequel Toy Story 2 both were successful in their mission of acquiring a 100% certified RT ratings. It is not surprising to learn that Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 also enjoy 98% and 97% RT ratings, respectively. Good job there!

5. 12 Angry Men

I would be very ANGRY if I found out that this movie does not have a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I mean, why shouldn’t it? Henry Fonda’s classic creation will always be one of my favorite movies. The film received a thumbs-up from 50 critics while more than 100k users gave it a 97% score. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you are missing out on some brilliance.

6. Singin’ in the Rain

Hold on. Stop right where you are. Ask yourself whether you have watched this movie or not because if you haven’t, I will start judging you. Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, and Debbie Reynolds did a pretty fantastic job in this musical which is also co-directed and choreographed by Gene Kelly. Both fans and critics have rightly blessed this movie with great positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

7. Paddington 2

Well, I don’t have much to say about this movie but the fact that it is the BEST-REVIEWED movie on Rotten Tomatoes given that it was reviewed positively by 235 critics, beating Leave No Trace in the competition. It surely was successful in avoiding the sight of most cynical critics.

8. All About Eve

Get ready for a smooth watch when you decide to watch All About Eve, a masterpiece created by Joseph L. Mankiewicz in 1950. The movie is based on the story of “The Wisdom of Eve” by Mary Orr and stars Bette Davis and Anne Baxter. The film managed to earn around 14 Oscar nominations and was the first film to get four female acting nominations at Oscars.
