Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is on its way and we can’t wait to find all the updates! In 2018, James Wan surprised everyone by presenting an all-around terrific Aquaman. The first Aquaman movie, starring Jason Momoa and set in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), was a huge success. It is, after all, one of the highest-grossing DC Comics adaptations, so it was only a matter of time until a sequel was discussed. With Aquaman 2 just around the way and many key players returning for more, C Comics and Warner Bros. are definitely aiming to strike lightning twice. After the amazing teaser trailer was released a few days back, here’s everything we know about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom from the DCEU.
Jason Momoa was Diagnosed with Covid during the shoot:
According to reports, Jason Momoa tested positive for COVID-19 while filming Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. The sequel to the DC blockbuster is presently being shot in the United Kingdom, but Momoa is said to be isolating himself in order to avoid another epidemic.
Last month, the actor shared the first look at his character in the upcoming thriller. In the forthcoming DC sequel, Momoa and Heard will reprise their roles as Aquaman and Mera, respectively, alongside Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Temuera Morrison. Pilou Asbaek, who played Euron Greyjoy on Game of Thrones, is also in talks to star.
Amber Heard serve us with a First look at Mera:
In Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Amber Heard gives us our first look at Mera. The actress recently shared a photo of herself wearing Mera’s signature red hair on her own Instagram account.
Heard simply put “Red-dy” in the caption. For DC FanDome 2021, Warner Bros. went all out, including showing behind-the-scenes footage from the next James Wan and Jason Momoa-led blockbuster. The trailer gave fans a taste of what they may expect from the DCEU film, effectively hyping up the audience for the film’s debut next year. Regardless, fans will be thrilled to get a look at the character before the sequel’s release.
What did the title reveal about the story?
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s title implies that the sequel will be largely focused on Atlantis’ Lost Kingdom. The kingdom of Atlantis was divided into seven kingdoms in the DCEU mythology after the city fell into the ocean. Atlantis, Xebel, Fisherman, Brine, Trench, Deserters, and the mysterious Lost Kingdom are among these kingdoms. Although the Lost Kingdom was mentioned in the first Aquaman, there were few specifics regarding what happened to it. Based on its name, the Lost Kingdom hasn’t been seen or heard from in a long time. Fans might expect Aquaman 2 to delve deeper into the Lost Kingdom’s past and current state.
Does Behind the scenes give us spoilers?
The behind-the-scenes clip does not reveal much about the plot, but it does show some of the set pieces and action sequences that will be shown in the finished film. Beaches, cities, snowy slopes, tunnels, and, of course, underwater battles abound. The cast also discusses how much bigger, more epic, and more entertaining this new film is in the short clip.
Members from the previous film join the sequel:
Many members of the previous film’s creative team return for the sequel, including director James Wan and writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as King Orm, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta is also among the returning cast members.
It’s tough to say what will happen in Aquaman 2, i.e. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom at this stage; what are your thoughts on the upcoming film?
