Disneyland and Walt Disney World Extended Their Closure due to COVID-19.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World closed its gates since weeks back, but the company has stated that they are extending its closures, right now coronavirus confirmed cases in United States is on top in the whole world, United States government strict ban on business which also affect the entertainment industry.

Currently, California and Orlando’s government gave orders to stay at home, so definitely domestic parks will be closed, as company stated before that parks will be functional from April 1st, but the increase in coronavirus cases made the company extend its timelines.

The health experts and government officials provide directives to avoid public places and stay-at-home this is why, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.

Although, estimated earnings of Disney is around $20 to $30 million per day only from domestic park which company is losing every day in this lockdown period, but company do not want to put their employees and guests life at risk.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s trade union leaders sent letters to the company and demanded that the company will still pay to their employees during this lockdown. The company previously notified its employees about the park’s extended closures, but employees were confused about the issue of compensation. Disney cast members are paid hourly with variable amounts of shifts per week, so this is unclear that how must they will be paid.

The additional company announces extended closing date is Wednesday, April 19th, all the businesses will be closed in California and many other states, causing theme parks and hotels of Disney, Shopping districts and nationwide Disney stores.
