How to Think Positive Thoughts in Tough Times

The power of positive thinking helps you change your life altogether for all good reasons. You can have bad circumstances and tough times but the way you deal with these times is more important. Having the right approach can help you think positive thoughts and swim through. The way you deal with a situation is more essential than the situation itself.

Positive thoughts have a great impact on your personal and mental well-being. A positive mindset will boost your confidence, cheer you up, and even help you through depression, stress, anxiety, and hypertension.

Here is a list of ways that can help you think positive!

1.  Love Yourself

Put yourself ahead of everything else. When you don’t love yourself, how do you expect others to do that? Take good care of yourself, take rest, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise, meditate, go for a massage, take out time for fun, etc. Remember everything depends on you and revolves around you in your life. Put yourself first!

2.  Create a list of Gratitude

Have you ever thought that you have nothing left in your life? But do you know that if you have food, clothes, and your own roof on your head, you are richer than the 75% population of this world? Yes! To think positive thoughts, look down to the people who don’t have things you have. List down everything you are thankful for in your life. And trust me when you think positively you will find plenty of them. You can list down one positive moment of your day before sleeping.

3.  Gather Positive People around You

Are there some people in your life that make you feel happy and motivated? Stick on to them. Spend time with positive people around you and let go of toxic people in your life. You will feel emotionally devastated and full of negative thoughts when you hang out with negative people. Staying around with positive people will not only make you happy, it will also help you think positive thoughts in tough times.

4.  Do Something for Others

Sometimes do something that is meant for someone else. Be selfless and you will find inner peace doing it. It will help you feel better and think positive. Find ways to serve the community to help others and give compliments. Motivate others, because you get what you give.

5.  Replace Negativity with the Positive thoughts

Whenever you feel negative, think of something positive. Think of the outcomes of your negative thoughts. You may avoid an interview because you think you’ll never get that job but what If you missed a lifetime opportunity. The thoughts that will make you think the Never factor in your life are negative thoughts, identify them, and create a distraction when you are having negative thoughts. If you want to think positive start taking responsibility for your behaviors and decisions instead of blaming others.

6.  Failure is the Best Teacher

When you fail at somethings, take this as an opportunity to learn. Biggest names in history never gave up due to continuous failures. Thomas Edison was asked how he feels that he attempted 3000 times to light a Bulb and his answer was interesting. He said that now I know 3000 ways that don’t light a bulb. Would you ever know Thomas Edison, or sitting under a light bulb if he would have given up after the 10th or 100th or 1000th attempt? You just have to believe in yourself and make sure failures never set you back.

7.  Work on how you spend your time

Your thinking process is based on your activities and routine. Read motivational blogs, listen to motivational speeches of successful people who made it through a tough time, read good books, watch funny TV shows, movies, and YouTube videos. Try doing out things that boost your mood.  If you have a hobby like cooking, gardening, collecting postcards, do it! Have drink with your friends, go out on a date night, or adopt a pet. You brain process the information that you give it. The way you take things in your life is way more important to think of positive thoughts.

Negative thoughts are sort of plague and it might get difficult to get rid of them. But consider the consequences it will have on your mental and physical health. Think positive thoughts and keep practicing it, and a time will come when you will not have to work out to think positively and tap in the power of positive thinking.
