What is the film about?
House Of Gucci recounts the marriage of Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, the heir to Guccio Gucci’s design house.
Gucci divorced Reggiani in 1985 after 12 years of marriage and was slain on the stairs of his office in Italy in 1995 by a hired hitman. The film is based on the events leading up to Reggiani’s trial, in which she was charged with murder and jailed.
Naturally, the world’s newspapers were enthralled, and Reggiani earned the moniker “Black Widow.” Reggiani was released on good behavior after serving 26 years in prison.
She now lives in Milan, where she is supported by an annual stipend from Maurizio’s inheritance and can be seen strolling among the city’s posh boutiques with her pet, Bo.
Is it based on a true story?
The film is based on Sara Gay Forden’s literal book of the same name, published in 2001, and covers the emergence of the Gucci powerful family, including every feud, litigation, and jail.
This film covers all you need to know about Gucci’s history, from the beginning of the brand to the tragic end of Reggiani and Gucci’s marriage.
While the plot is based on true events and individuals, a few components were modified for the film due to Bentivegna’s conscious decisions, who took inspiration for the screenplay from action movies.
