Coronavirus caused Hollywood badly as all the upcoming movies pushed back, also TV shows and TV award shows including Oscars. Now the latest event that affected due to pandemic is 2020 MTV Movie and TV awards.
So the latest news is that MTV is putting a hold on this year’s MTV Movie and TV Award show, a report by Variety. It is still in the waits for the official statement from the network about the 2020 award show. For two years the network has been airing award shows and for the first time ever of almost 3 decades, an award show will not be aired. But don’t lose hope MTV is still in works of a plan to present the telecast by the end of the year. Not because of the coronavirus, the plan was in work even before the pandemic.
The symbolic golden popcorn statue each year since 1992 has given the winners of both big and small screens a great recognition. Completely transparent voted by the common people. In 2018 the show was hosted by Zachary Levi. Movies that won the hearts of people also winners of the evening were Handmaid’s Tale, Games of Thrones, and Avengers: Endgame. The MTV Movie and TV Awards are known for giving a platform to gender-neutral categories, amping up the thrill for summer box office season, and also showing unforgettable moments. As for now, we can only hope that the MTV network can find a solution to on-air a night to remember telecast for the audiences in the future.
