The Devil Wears Prada – A Movie for Fashionistas

Some movies leave a mark on you when you watch them. The Devil Wears Prada is among those movies which you will never forget especially if you are true fashion follower and lover.

The movie is such a treat for eyes to watch. The movie revolves around Andy (Anna Hathaway) and Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) as lead roles while Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) and Stanley Tucci (Nigel Kipling) play key supporting roles.

The movie is a traditional movie that doesn’t revolve around a male lead. The movie is the most expensively costumed movie in cinema history. Frankel was responsible for the costuming. Almost $1million worth of costumes were worn by the cast. Several brands as Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Prada, Versace, Chanel wore in the movie. Around 40% of the shoes worn by Meryl Streep were Prada. A Fred Leighton necklace that Streep wore solely cost $100,000.

Several contributions were made by Georges Chakra, a famous Lebanese designer. Miranda also wore  Michaele Vollbracht for Bill Blass, as Patricia Field wanted Miranda dresses less recognizable by masses.

Andy is an enthusiastic journalist who is a fashion disaster got a job as Miranda’s assistant. A phrase is used often that a million girls would kill for this job. Miranda is an editor at a fashion magazine titled “Runaway”. She is a fashion queen and designers would do anything to taker her approval and positive review for their collections and designs.

Anna embarrasses herself in a meeting while laughing at a dress trial Miranda was leading. She reaches out Nigel to help her in transforming her fashion sense and to tell her what to wear. And oh my my !!! The transformation of Anna Hathaway is so amazing that you will forget to blink. She wears and confidently carries best outfits, shoes, bags, accessories and just kills everyone with her looks. Miranda gets really impressed by her effort and they both get quite close to each other.

The opening scene of women wearing amazing outfits and heading to work is unmatchable.

Don’t just talk about Anna Hathaway, the role of Miranda Priestley is so powerful and influencing. Miranda is a fashion icon and the way she carries herself is amazing. I would like to say that Miranda in her outfits and accessories looks better than any other actress in the movie.

People still search google to tell them how to dress like Miranda Priestley. Emily Blunt played the role of Emily, Miranda’s first assistant. She looked amazing in the movie and in the dresses she wore.

We would suggest “The Devil Wears Prada” to all the fashion lovers if you have still not seen this movie. As other movies of Meryl Streep you’ll love this one too!
