The Witcher: Blood Origin Prequel sets 1200 years back!

Netflix has officially announced The Witcher: Blood Origin that will be a prequel to most famous Netflix fantasy show “The Witcher”. The series is based on the Andrzej Sapkowski book series, it been adapted into video games, and TV series. The Witcher was although announced in 2017, it debuted in 2019. The story revolves around Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a monster slayer; he travels around the world (Continent), fighting monsters and witches.

The Witcher became an instant success of Netflix as it was launched and intelligently Netflix announced. Netflix announced The Witcher season 2 before the first one released. The filming, however, got delayed due to the pandemic situation going on. The season filming schedule is announced and the filming will start in Aug 2020 and it will end in Feb 2021.

Netflix has also planned The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel to The Witcher, which will show the story around 1200 years back from the era of Geralt of Rivia.

Netflix announced that the story of The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell the tale of the first witcher. The series will have the spice viewers need including monsters, elves and men into one series. The series will have six parts and will be produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich along with Declan de Barra.

One of the writers for the show told that he was always curious about the forgotten first Witcher and the forgotten Elven civilization of the Continent after reading the books.

The show is a very good opportunity for those who like to know about the world before Geralt. It would be interesting to see the similarities or differences between the first witcher and Geralt. De Barra says that he wanted to explore the Continent before cataclysmic arrival of the humans

Many people compare the show with Game of Thrones due to the depiction of a whole new world and characters. The fact that GOT is also getting a prequel is also uncanny. However,

Netflix will, however, prioritize The Witcher season 2 before the prequel. The productions and shooting are quite difficult in the time of health emergency. Especially when famous actors like Kristofer Hivju also suffered from Covid-19.
